NCSoft has announced or at least narrowed down the release dates for both Master X Master and Lineage Eternal. Both games are set to be released worldwide, including in Europe. Additionally, NCSoft is focusing on mobile.
The Korean MMO giant NCSoft has presented its numbers for Q4 2016. There was also information about new games.
Release of Master X Master coming soon
Master X Master will be a type of MOBA with PvE elements. This is already quite advanced. A launch of Master X Master in the West is planned for the second quarter of 2017.
There are still some questions regarding Lineage Eternal
The action MMORPG Lineage Eternal is supposed to enter a second closed beta in South Korea in 2017. After that, an open beta and the official launch are expected.
NCSoft North America is working on a mobile version of Lineage Eternal. They hope that both versions will launch simultaneously.
It is still not clear how it will be here in the West for Lineage Eternal. The question is whether the open beta and release will happen simultaneously worldwide, as was initially planned. The timing for the second closed beta to happen “later in 2017” is also very vague.
Mobile Rush at NCSoft
Furthermore, NCSoft is also working on three more mobile versions of well-known IPs: Lineage M, Blade & Soul Mobile, and Aion Legions. All three are expected to make a splash in 2017.
- Lineage M is delayed by 2 or 3 months, but is still set to be released in 2017, probably first in South Korea.
- Blade & Soul Mobile is supposed to be developed for 2017 – unless we hear otherwise
- Aion Legions will start a soft launch in North America and Europe in Q2 2017, and will actually release in Q3 – “soft launch” is an open beta
With Lineage Eternal, this would make a quartet of new mobile titles. NCSoft is placing a strong focus on this, as we have known since November 2015. A mobile studio has been specifically established in California. This now seems to be bearing fruit.
