A bug is currently causing issues for players of Rainbow Six: Siege on Xbox. Anyone who doesn’t die before the countdown expires will be kicked. Even a temporary ban is possible. MeinMMO tells you how to avoid a ban.
What bug is this? Xbox players in Rainbow Six: Siege are currently at risk of being kicked from the ongoing match due to a bug.
The error starts the so-called inactivity countdown. When this expires, the affected player is kicked from the ongoing match.
If you fail to rejoin the lobby before the match ends, you will receive a temporary ban.
Videos on Reddit show players being kicked from Ranked matches. A suggestion from the community states that the death of the character interrupts the countdown.
You can see a Reddit post showing the bug here:
Solution: Teammates can save you from a ban
These measures protect you: If you are affected by the bug, there is an effective protective measure that provides immediate relief.
Before the countdown ends, your character must die. This interrupts the timer immediately, as downed players in Rainbow Six: Siege cannot be kicked for inactivity. To be kicked, you must still be alive.
How your character dies is up to you. You can, for example, run laughing into a circular saw, or, rather, a rifle of your opponent. If the opportunity presents itself in your situation, dying from fall damage would also be an alternative.
Of course, explosive gadgets like Nitros, C4, or grenades also work. If none of this is possible, one of your teammates will surely be helpful.
What are the consequences of the bug? Players who do not know the protective measures have to expect a kick. This happens automatically after the 10-second countdown expires.
In many cases, the affected player has the option to rejoin the ongoing match. However, this function occasionally does not work as intended.
Additionally, it may happen that the match ends before you can rejoin. This is possible if a player wants to rejoin a match that has already determined a winner and loser.
If this is the case, the player is even threatened with a temporary ban. This can last from a few minutes to several hours or even a few days.
The length of the ban depends on how often a player has received the so-called abandonment penalty during a certain period.
Bugs are not uncommon. Sometimes they are extremely annoying. In other cases, they make you laugh. But even if bugs can affect the fun of the game, they rarely determine the identity of a game.
Whether we look at Destiny and Apex Legends or Rainbow Six: Siege and Valorant – none of these games is characterized by its bugs. The games are defined by factors such as gameplay or community.
