In Pokémon GO, a new Raid Hour starts tonight, October 30! This time it’s all about Darkrai again. We provide information on counters, start time, and participant numbers.
This event is about: The Raid Hour takes place regularly on Wednesday evenings. During the event, there are increased raids in the arenas everywhere.
Tonight you’ll find more Darkrai than usual. Thanks to the Halloween Event, the Pokémon is in the level 5 raids and appears, just like last week, more frequently this time as well.
What you need to know about the Raid Hour with Darkrai
When does the Raid Hour start? The event starts, as usual, at 6 PM. 20 minutes beforehand, a black egg will appear on all arenas where there is currently no raid. At 6 PM sharp, Darkrai will hatch.
In every other arena where there is no raid until 7 PM, Darkrai will appear as well. The exception is arenas that have just distributed EX raid invitations.
You need to have these counters: Darkrai is weak against the types Fighting, Bug, and Fairy. It’s best to rely on a full Machamp team, as it is the best counter. Pokémon like Hariyama, Togekiss, or Roserade are also good choices.
How many people do you need for Darkrai? The mysterious Pokémon can already be defeated with three players. However, you need suitable weather and a strong team. For the Raid Hour, we recommend a group size of 5 to 6 players. This way, you can move quickly and are not tied to too many trainers.
Should you take advantage of the Raid Hour? Definitely! Darkrai is the best Dark attacker in the game and far outperforms Pokémon like Tyranitar or Sableye.
Moreover, Darkrai will not be available for long and will disappear from raids on November 1. When it will return is still uncertain. Until then, you can still take advantage of the double candies when catching.
What are the future Raid Hours going to be like? This is currently uncertain. Niantic has only announced the Raid Hours for October so far. What it looks like in November is still unknown.
If Niantic stays true to itself, there will also be a Raid Hour every Wednesday then. Which Pokémon will be featured is currently not known.
