What kind of game is this? In Deep Rock Galactic, you embark on procedurally generated caves with up to 4 players, gather resources, and kill hordes of aliens. You take on the role of heavily armed dwarves fulfilling missions for a mining company. For this, you need to farm specific resources and successfully extract at the end of the mission.
Deep Rock Galactic is not a classic extraction shooter where you spawn on a large map and choose an exit through which you then extract. Instead, you must return to your drill capsule at the end of each round to leave the map. If you fail to do this, you fail the mission.
To slay the alien hordes and escape from the depths of the caves, the game provides you with 4 classes and various “tools” such as flamethrowers and Gatling guns.
Why is your favorite game missing? This is just a small, personal selection of alternatives and not a complete list of all extraction shooters that focus exclusively on PvE. I have avoided hardcore shooters like the PvE mode of Escape from Tarkov or Incursion Red River, which rely on ruthless realism, as I believe they differ too much from ARC Raiders in terms of gameplay. I aimed to provide specific PvE alternatives to ARC Raiders, and it is simply not a hardcore shooter and is also suitable for casual players. This was therefore one of the selection criteria for the 5 games.
