What kind of game is this? Helldivers 2 is a mix of extraction and horde shooter. You land on a planet in a landing capsule, where you’re greeted by massive hordes of nasty robots, aliens, or extraterrestrial bugs.
Your objective on the various planets is to complete missions that ensure the survival of humanity. In the meantime, you diligently collect samples needed to make upgrades to your ship. These will aid you in your battles.
In the fight against the enemies of humanity, you have various weapons as well as so-called Stratagems at your disposal. This is tactical equipment that you can use to eliminate large hordes of enemies or particularly powerful foes in one fell swoop. Stratagems include destructive airstrikes with fighter jets that drop bombs or orbital attacks with lasers and cannon shots.
At the end of a mission, you must successfully extract by having a transport aircraft carry you to your spaceship. If extraction fails, you receive less XP and lose all the samples you collected during the mission on the alien planet.
