The PUBG (PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds) roadmap for Xbox One sounds promising. There are plans for performance improvements, a better UI, and the release of the Miramar map that players on Xbox One have been waiting so long for.
With the release of the roadmap for PUBG on Xbox One, console players have reasons to be excited again. Soon, several changes are expected in the game: The UI will become more intuitive, and soon you will be able to shoot through vehicles at players more easily.
And very importantly: The Miramar map is coming!
Better Performance in PUBG on Xbox One
The developers have now presented the spring roadmap for PUBG on Xbox One and explained that they aim to significantly improve the gameplay experience. Patches are coming now at intervals of 2-3 weeks so that they can be thoroughly tested beforehand.
The developers are not satisfied with PUBG’s performance on Xbox, similar to many players. Especially in action-packed situations, the experience is disappointing. By adjusting the building graphics on Erangel, they have already managed to increase the frame rate. As long as the developers are not completely satisfied with the performance, optimizing the performance remains the highest priority.
In the following technical areas, the developers made changes:
- Optimization of game characters and their movements
- Optimization of the number of particle effects appearing with vehicles and grenades
- Improved object collision
- Improved distribution of CPU load across all cores to reduce issues during movements
Interface, Inventory, and Matchmaking Improvements
The developers want PUBG to stand out in quality compared to other games in your library. To improve quality, HDR and Safe Zone options are being optimized.
There is a lot of feedback from Xbox users regarding game controls, especially regarding inventory. The controls in PUBG are complex. In heated situations, the game needs to be easy to control.
To address this, the developers plan improvements that will allow you to perform desired actions faster. What this means in detail is unclear.
There will also be additional presets and more aiming options for controllers. This will give players more freedom in setting their controls.
To make matches feel “fairer” in the future, matchmaking for duos and squads is being worked on. If you notice unsportsmanlike behavior from opponents, player reports should soon function more easily and quickly.
You’ll be able to shoot better through vehicles soon
For a more realistic gameplay feel, the developers are working on vehicle penetration. Currently, vehicles have almost their own health bar. If this is shot down, the occupants can be harmed.
With an update, vehicles will allow bullets to pass through in certain areas. If players hit the right spots (like doors) on the vehicle, they can directly injure players inside.
With the game highlights feature, you will soon be able to capture and share cool scenes. Additionally, achievements will be unlocked through challenges. Work is also being done on sound and customization of characters.
Test servers for Xbox One and Miramar map are coming
To test upcoming patches before release, Xbox players will receive test servers. Through an additional client that you can download on Xbox One, you will have access to test updates before they go live on the “live servers”.
Does this also include the desert map “Miramar”? It now has a tentative release timeframe. In the roadmap, the developers explain, “Miramar is coming to Xbox in early spring!”
Fans are even working on new maps for PUBG – two have now designed this icy winter map for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds
