With the rise of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) in 2017, the rise of the streamer DrDisRespect is also associated. He is returning to Twitch now.
Behind the character DrDisRespect is Guy Beahm, who was formerly a designer at Sledgehammer Games, the studio behind Call of DutyWW:II. However, Beahm streams not as an experienced gaming insider, but as the macho character DrDisRespect, who engages in all sorts of quirks and misdeeds. The fans love him for it.
2017 was the year of PUBG, Twitch, and the Doctor
In 2017, the Doctor’s channel reached unprecedented heights. With a mix of controversial, brash, sentimental, and humorous actions, he fueled his prominence:
- He clashed with PlayerUnknown
- arrived at E3 in a Lamborghini
- or showed himself emotionally moved on stream when he met a fan
Numerous insider jokes shape the style of his channel.

By the end of last year, the Doctor’s channel had over 1.4 million followers, and DrDisRespect was able to snag the Video Game Award for Streamer of the Year 2017.
No question, 2017 was the year of PUBG, Twitch, and the Doctor.
The Doctor paused due to infidelity
However, the year ended on a difficult note. In mid-December, the Doc appeared in a stream, but without his usual disguise. He seemed shaken.

The streamer confessed to the fans that he had been unfaithful to his wife and would now suspend streaming indefinitely.
All of this seemed unusually serious for the Doc. He spoke of his wonderful family and the child, and that he did not want to be the man who did such things.
However, yesterday the announcement came via Twitter: The Doc is returning. And this announcement brought DrDisRespect back fully into character.
While he is caught in a leg lock by a woman who holds a knife to his throat, the Doctor announces his return. Perhaps he wants to humorously suggest that his wife could take revenge on him at any moment.
In any case, fans can expect new escapades starting February 5th.
Perhaps 2018 will also be the year of the Doctor again.
