Good news for PUBG (PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds) players on Xbox: The new update on March 2nd is set to make your life significantly easier and improve game performance.
A new update for PUBG on Xbox is on the way. It is scheduled to go live on March 2nd at 10:00 AM German time. To activate it, you should restart your console.
The changes include many “Quality of Life” improvements based on community feedback.
PUBG Xbox One Update
The new update will fix many bugs including the sounds of water and a suddenly disappearing red zone. Additionally, the performance has been tweaked and is expected to be better after the update is installed.
With the new DVR feature, you can also have your gameplay highlights recorded automatically. In the patch notes, we will show you what is changing:
Patch Notes
The gameplay will change in many areas for you. Furthermore, several bugs that led to crashes or frozen characters will be fixed.
- Gameplay
- There are now several new locations where you will gather before a match. This is intended to improve the performance of servers and clients.
- On the starting island, you will no longer find weapons before the start of the match.
- Game-DVR is now supported and automatically records game highlights. This feature must be activated in the options first.
- Due to player feedback regarding vehicles, damage caused by objects like rocks, trees, or uneven terrain on the map has been reduced.
- The sound effects of water and the red zone have been adjusted.
- Group matchmaking is now based on player MMR.
- The blood effects at long distances have reverted to their original color.
- UI/UX
- The colors of squad members (Yellow, Orange, Blue, and Green) are now easier to see.
- Players can use the right stick to rotate the character model while customizing.
- When customizing the character, you can hold the D-Pad to switch between menus.
- There is now a preview when you change the look of a character or create a new character.
- Items
- The design of energy drinks has been updated.

- Bug Fixes – The following bugs have been fixed
- Sound effects of water.
- Red zone suddenly disappeared.
- Character teleportation after landing.
- Doors that were open but could not be crossed.
- Healing and boosts were usable underwater.
- Character animations when transitioning from lying down to standing.
- Sudden fall death while running.
- Buildings missing stairs.
- Objects that floated in mid-air.
- Various areas where players were stuck.
- Squad members that did not appear after invitation.
- Revives that inexplicably canceled.
- Hand animations when reloading and shooting with the Kar98 while the character is lying down.
- Slowed parachute speed in first-person view.
- Character animations when entering vehicles from a lying position.
- Optimization
- Textures, landscapes, and buildings have been updated throughout the island to improve performance.
- A crash was fixed that occurred with HDR enabled.
- A bug was fixed where the character froze when re-entering the game after a crash.
- Another crash that occurred when opening the inventory was fixed.
- If you watch another player using a scope, the game should no longer crash.
- Known Issues
- The B button is incorrectly displayed to separate the parachute’s string. The button is actually X.
- When viewing the map, the buttons X, Y, and B work. This could cause you to exit the vehicle or plane while in motion. Therefore, it is better to use the map hotkey to leave the view until the issue is fixed.
