A new weapon is on the way to PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. More good news: It can be found not only as an airdrop but all over the map.
The next update for PUBG is scheduled for next week, starting from September 11th. As the developers announced, the update will be tested on the test servers as usual before it is activated on the live servers later.
The Mini-14 is coming!
On Twitter, the official PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds account announced that the next update is coming. They have parted ways with the regular weekly and monthly updates, to ensure better quality in the updates. Accordingly, there is a big hope for the first “unscheduled” PUBG patch.
Exact patch notes are not available yet, but some details were revealed on Twitter. First, you’ll get a look at the new weapon:
All over the Erangel map, you will find the new Mini-14 weapon through the update. It is a DMR model (Designated Marksman Rifle). It lies in distance effectiveness between assault rifles and sniper rifles.
In the “real world”, the Mini-14 uses 5.56mm caliber ammunition.
As the developers reveal, the new patch will initially be active on the test servers for at least two days before being transferred to the live servers. We expect the patch notes shortly before the update is released. The developers have already provided fans with some information regarding the changes.

- Foggy weather
- Ranked playlists for FPP modes
- Many bug fixes

In the future, the water in PUBG is set to be overhauled. To achieve this, the technology of a pirate adventure game will be used.
