PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is immensely successful and is attracting more and more players. Now, the battle royale online shooter has for the first time displaced the popular Overwatch in PC Bangs in South Korea.
There is hardly a week that goes by in which PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds does not have a new success story to report. Recently, it managed to surpass Valve’s MOBA giant Dota 2 in terms of concurrent players on Steam.
In addition, the site SteamSpy has found that PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is taking massive numbers of players away from competing products Counterstrike: Global Offensive and H1Z1: King of the Kill.

To explain: PC Bangs are a Korean phenomenon. They are a type of internet café where you can play current games for a fee on decent computers. Such gaming spots are still very popular in Korea, and the games played there are a good indicator of their popularity.
With a rating of 13.51 percent, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds beats the previously extremely popular PC Bang game Overwatch, which only achieved a rating of 12.99 percent.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds – Overwatch Off-Season might be the reason
However, these figures should not be taken uncritically. According to some Reddit users, Season 5 of Overwatch is currently coming to an end, and there is always a decline in players observed between competitive seasons. Overwatch could soon regain a significant number of players.
