Do you have really bad computers but still want to play PUBG (PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds)? Then PUBG Lite is probably just right for you. The game requires minimal system requirements on the PC and it’s free too.
This is new: The PUBG team has been working on a version that doesn’t require much hardware for a while now. PUBG Lite is now entering beta in Thailand. It is free and the system requirements are ridiculously low. Even onboard graphics are sufficient.
What you need to know about PUBG Lite
When does the beta start? Initially, PUBG Lite began as a beta in Thailand. The testing phase started today, on January 24th. Other locations that haven’t been specified yet are to be opened for the beta soon. However, there is no fixed date yet.
Why this Lite version? PUBG probably wants to give as many people as possible the chance to play this battle royale. Some have not been able to participate due to PUBG’s system requirements. A significantly scaled-down version could bring more players in.Does PUBG Lite cost money? No, it is a free version of PUBG.
What’s included? For now, there are only the original map “Erangel” and the desert map “Miramar” available to play. PUBG Corp has stated that it plans to continue supporting this version in the future. Also, the popular snow map Vikendi and new game modes will be added later. (via Dexerto)
Who is PUBG Lite for? Primarily, it addresses gamers who are still using older, weaker systems. 4GB of RAM and an Intel i3 with 2.4GHz is enough.
On the other hand, it also clearly addresses people who have not wanted to pay the purchase price for PUBG up to now. With the free version, they can take a look into the game without spending money.
When will PUBG Lite be available in Germany? This is currently not known. At the moment, PUBG Lite is planned for Thailand. However, it is said that “more countries will follow soon.”
