The free PS Plus Games for May 2019 will only be announced in Europe and the USA at the beginning of May. However, Sony has already revealed the free monthly Games for Asia. What games are included in the free PS4 games? And what does this mean for PS Plus members in Germany?
Fans in Europe and the USA are eagerly waiting for the reveal of the PS Plus games for May 2019. This is scheduled for Wednesday next week, on May 1.
However, in Japan and other Asian countries, players now know what to expect as PS Plus subscribers.
The following free games are available in Asia: PS Plus members in Asia and Japan can look forward to the following free games for the PS4 in May:
- The Witness (Asia) – a single-player first-person adventure that offers a challenging puzzle experience
- Darksiders: Warmastered Edition (Japan) – a remastered version of the action-adventure Darksiders for the current console generation
- Metal Gear Survive (Japan and Asia) – a third-person co-op shooter with survival elements
Why is this announcement also interesting for us? Monthly games often overlap in different regions with those from Europe and the USA. The Asian and Japanese PS Plus offerings could therefore provide hints on which games might also be available for us.
Just in March 2019, Call of Duty: Remastered overlapped in Asia and Japan as a PS Plus title and was also made available in Europe and the USA.
Which games could there be in Europe? The Witness can be excluded right away. This game was already offered to PS Plus members in Europe and the USA in March.
Since Darksiders does not overlap in Japan and Asia, it is also unlikely that this title will be available for German PS Plus subscribers in May. Additionally, Darksiders has already been offered as a PS Plus game in North America. Therefore, the chances are rather low.
However, Metal Gear Survive might actually also be available for us. This title will be available in Japan and Asia. Moreover, this game has never been part of PS Plus.
In the case of overlap, it is entirely possible that the title could also be offered in other regions, namely in the USA and Europe in May.
