About 9 months ago, Greg “Ghostcrawler” Street first showcased gameplay from his Project Ghost. In this MMORPG, fans are to be involved in the development from the start. Now, further insights into the game are to follow – this time live and with well-known YouTubers and Twitch streamers.
What will be shown in the live gameplay? As revealed by the X account of the responsible development studio, there will be a live gameplay stream with four players:
- CohhCarnage has been streaming various games like Apex Legends and Path of Exile for many years. He doesn’t stick to one main game. The streamer was live for so many days in a row, that he didn’t know what to do during a break.
- JoCat is a well-known YouTuber who primarily plays the MMORPG Final Fantasy 14. He has also had to take a break in the past.
- Josh Strife Hayes is one of the biggest YouTubers when it comes to MMORPGs. He made a video about Maple Story in the past, which he was not allowed to publish.
- Developer Ghostcrawler is also participating.
The latest content added to Project Ghost is to be showcased. We will only find out which ones that are in the stream. Although there has been gameplay shown before, that was not live.
In the comments, an X user also asks whether we will finally get to see the gameplay. The developer then replies: We will finally see it.
When does the livestream take place? It will take place on August 14, 2025, at 8 PM Central European Summer Time. You can follow the live gameplay on the 4 Twitch channels of the participants.
New MMORPG with Innovative Ideas
What is special about Project Ghost? The MMORPG fully relies on its blue zones. They are to be procedurally generated but feel “handcrafted”. Here, there are supposed to be location-specific quests and objectives. Additionally, the zones are to be private for each player or group and have an impact on the world.
Instead of focusing on survival like many others, Project Ghost uses roguelike elements. Over time, you should be able to choose different skills and upgrades here.
In contrast, there are supposed to be red zones that are indeed handcrafted. They are intended to provide content familiar from theme park MMORPGs like Final Fantasy 14.
The developer has already revealed that the MMORPG is not meant to fill up all of your free time. Those who focus on progress can achieve their goal long before the next chapter appears: The new MMORPG Ghost from the former WoW boss aims to appreciate your time and allow breaks.
