How does the trick work? Currently, you can get Microsoft 365 Family for 49.99 euros thanks to Prime Day on Amazon. The 12-month subscription includes 1 TB of cloud storage for OneDrive. The advantage is, however, that you are allowed to share the family subscription with up to 5 other people.
All 6 people then have access to 1 TB of storage during the 12-month period. If you split the costs among yourselves, you only pay around 8 euros for 1 TB of storage for a whole year. You can hardly get cloud storage cheaper. Each person has access to their own terabyte of storage space and does not have to share it.
Is there a catch? Note that after the activation of Family you should cancel the subscription again immediately, otherwise, the subscription updates automatically and charges you the full price in the following year.
You should also note: If the owner lets the subscription expire, your cloud storage will be gone again next year. Once the subscription expires, you have 30 days to back up your data before Microsoft deletes the storage. You will usually receive an email to notify you of this.
