The MMO Palia has become a popular retreat for many players. Now the developers are showcasing the next update and what else is on the roadmap.
What can you expect in the upcoming update? In the latest blog post on Palia’s roadmap, the next major patch has been introduced. With patch 0.195, several large new features will be arriving on September 10, 2025, under the name “Of Barns and Briars.”
The highlight is likely to be the new Ranching Skill, which allows you to keep your own animals. On your ranch, you can raise and breed up to 30 animals at the same time. Each animal has specific characteristics that affect the visuals and gameplay, can develop, and can also be passed on to offspring.
You can also take your favorite animal as a pet on your adventures outside the ranch. The feature is initially designed as a solo experience but is expected to be available in multiplayer later. New animal species are set to follow in future patches.

- County Fair Notice Board Missions
- Introduction of new daily quests, tailoring tickets, and hair and makeup colors

What does autumn 2025 bring in Palia? In later patches this autumn, not only will new suitable hairstyles and outfits be released in the game, but also new features for player profiles that allow you to showcase your achievements.
Seasonal events are also set to return revamped, like the Halloween Festival, Winter Lights, or Lunar New Year 2026. Additionally, the focus will be on new ranch animals and community events, as well as introducing new ways for players to express their individuality. This includes dyeing clothing.
Finally, the developers give a brief outlook on things that are in focus for future developments. Work is still ongoing on shared player accommodations, a new adventure zone, and an upgrade for the photo mode. However, when these things are planned to be released is not elaborated on.
