So far, the Pokémon MOBA “Pokémon Unite” was only playable on the Nintendo Switch. Now, the leap to iOS and Android is imminent.
When does it start? The mobile launch of Pokémon Unite is just around the corner. Starting tomorrow, on September 22, 2021, the game will also be available on iOS and Android. You will find Pokémon Unite in the App Store or on Google Play.
The preload has already begun, and the servers are set to open at 9 AM.
Pokémon Unite with crossplay: If you have already been playing Pokémon Unite on the Nintendo Switch, you can carry over your progress. You simply need to link your account and can then play cross-platform without any issues.
To mark the release on mobile, Pokémon Unite will also release a new trailer. It will feature additional content as besides the mobile release there is also a larger update on the way.
New update for the mobile launch brings fresh content
What’s included in the update? One of the key points is a comprehensive language pack that you can download. With this update, it is now possible to play Pokémon Unite in English. So if you prefer to send Water-type Pokémon Blastoise or Charizard into battle instead of Blastoise and Charizard, you can look forward to it.
In addition, French, Italian, and Spanish will be included. However, language support is not everything.
A new feature called “Unite-Crews” will be added. This allows you to connect with other trainers in fixed squads and fight together. Additionally, there will be new content like a battle pass with cosmetics as well as a special mission to earn the unite license for Zeraora.
This Pokémon was previously available as a bonus when the Switch version was released. If you already have Zeraora, you can earn Aeos coins instead.
Other bonuses for the mobile launch include rewards like 1,000 Aeos tickets, a unite license for Pikachu, and a cosmetic for the electric Pokémon.
You can find a tier list of all Pokémon in the game here.
New events for items: In a letter to the community, the producer team of Pokémon Unite explained that the update will also introduce new events that can provide players with “super item enhancers”. These can be used to upgrade items towards level 30. Additionally, it is supposed to become easier for trainers to obtain item enhancers (via Pokémon Unite).
Upgrading items was mentioned as one of the aspects that led to Pokémon Unite facing Pay2Win accusations. Leveling items can be achieved faster with monetary investment, which can provide strong advantages. Whether and to what extent the yet-to-be-named measures regarding the items will have a positive effect will be revealed after the update.
