We asked you which generation has the coolest Pokémon. In the ranking, we show you generations 1 to 8 from most popular to least popular.
In Pokémon GO, you can catch monsters from various generations and experience battles or other adventures with them. Of course, everyone still knows about the first generation and can correctly associate individual names from Magikarp to Pikachu to Snorlax.
But is the generation therefore popular? And are the youngest generations also therefore the least popular? You were able to vote and crowned a clear winner. However, the “losers” are very close together.
The most popular Pokémon generations in the ranking
This was the survey: We asked you in November 2022, which of the 8 Pokémon generations you like the most. To do this, we showed you pictures of all Pokémon from the respective regions and mentioned a few highlights such as the corresponding starters.
Each participant had one vote to cast. On November 24 at 2:35 PM, 1,434 people voted. You came to the following result:
- Generation 1 (Kanto Region) with 865 votes, which corresponds to about 60%
- Generation 2 (Johto Region) with 194 votes, which corresponds to about 14%
- Generation 3 (Hoenn Region) with 143 votes, which corresponds to about 10%
- Generation 4 (Sinnoh Region) with 85 votes, which corresponds to about 6%
- Generation 8 (Galar/Hisui Region) with 60 votes, which corresponds to about 4%
- Generation 6 (Kalos Region) with 34 votes, which corresponds to about 2%
- Generation 7 (Alola Region) with 30 votes, which corresponds to about 2%
- Generation 5 (Unova Region) with 23 votes, which corresponds to about 2%
What stands out: The Kanto region, where the Pokémon series and games started on the Gameboy, is the most popular among the voting users here on MeinMMO. And it is a huge margin. Generation 2 with the Pokémon from the Johto region is already significantly behind in second place.
However, the pattern does not hold completely. It is not the newest region from the list that lands in last place. Instead, the Unova region receives hardly any votes from you.
