In Pokémon GO there is now a feature active that many trainers have been waiting for: the suggestion of new PokéStops. We will show you how it works.
What’s new? Gradually, Pokémon GO has unlocked a feature in the past few months that qualifies trainers to submit PokéStop suggestions.
Today, on the evening of June 6, 2019, Niantic activated this feature for trainers playing in Germany. Several trainers have confirmed this to us via Discord and Facebook.
This feature is particularly awaited by trainers in rural areas, as there are generally fewer stops and gyms there than in urban areas.
How do you submit new PokéStops?
- Start Pokémon GO
- Tap the Pokéball in the middle of the bottom screen
- Select the “Settings” option
- Scroll down
- Under Push Notifications, you will find the category “Player Suggestions”
- Here you have the opportunity to suggest a new stop.
What are the requirements? In order to suggest a stop, you must first reach level 40 in the trainer level. Until then, there is currently no way to submit a PokéStop suggestion.
It is quite possible that this rule will be relaxed in the future by Niantic, allowing trainers with lower levels to submit stops as well.
Previously, trainers who wanted more stops in Pokémon GO had to play Ingress. This is another game from Pokémon developers Niantic. Now it finally works directly in Pokémon GO.
What should be considered with new stops? Without rules, there would be a risk of every blade of grass being suggested as a PokéStop. Therefore, Niantic has already established certain requirements that such a location should meet.
Well-suited are historical places that can tell a story. Public artworks can also be counted as stops.
Less suitable are private properties or things like a fair, which are not always available in the same location.
