In Pokémon GO there are 3 teams that players can choose from starting at level 5. From that point on, players fight for that team and take over gyms in their name. Until now, players only knew the team leaders as silhouettes and didn’t know what the person behind them looked like.

Meanwhile, the team leaders were introduced at Comic Con. Now players have particularly set their sights on one team.

What makes Team Yellow different?

From the various team mottos, it was clear that Team Yellow approaches the Pokémon world less systematically and relies more on the instincts of Pokémon and their basic abilities. Team Red focuses on strength through training, and Team Blue studies Pokémon and their stats closely. There are various reasons why trainers online post nasty comments and funny pictures against Team Yellow. This was already the case before the revelation of the trainers and has now been amplified – however, now more trainers are showing support for “pro” Team Yellow.

In various social networks, Candela (Team Red) is often portrayed as a strong figure with “bite”, Blanche from Team Blue as the brains of the group, and Spark from Team Yellow is frequently depicted as someone who doesn’t take things as seriously as the others.

But it’s not just many users who make fun of Spark. As mentioned, the voices that are now louder supporting Spark and standing by him. Because although he does not train his Pokémon with full intensity or study their stats, he has his own unique bond with his companions.

Conclusion on the teams in Pokémon GO

Wherever players have to choose between different teams, there will always be some friction between them. Which team is the “right” one, no one can currently answer, because it ultimately depends solely on personal taste. If you are in a group, it is often helpful to choose the same team as your friends, so you can take over gyms together. Pointing fingers at each other and saying “Mine is the better team” has shown little effect so far. One could say “The attack is not very effective…”.
