Yesterday, the next big feature was announced in Pokémon GO with Gigantamax. However, it has not been well received by the community so far.
What is this feature? Gigantamax is the larger stage of Dynamax evolutions. Your monsters transform into giant versions of themselves, changing their shape and can use special attacks.
The first Gigantamax monsters were announced yesterday as part of the ‘GOgigantic’ event. However, a large number of trainers fear they will never experience this feature in its current form.
The toughest challenge in Pokémon GO so far
What’s the problem? Gigantamax is said to be the toughest challenge you can face in Pokémon GO. Accordingly, the requirements to participate successfully are also very high.
What deters most trainers is the number of players required for such a battle. Pokémon GO specifies this number as being between 10 to 40 trainers. While this alone poses a hurdle, there is another problem.
Both Gigantamax and Dynamax raids can only be completed on-site. There is currently no option to participate from a distance in such a battle. While it may be difficult even in large cities to gather the necessary trainers for such a fight locally, it becomes nearly impossible for trainers in rural areas.

So, it remains to be seen how many trainers will get to enjoy the new Gigantamax battles and whether Niantic might reduce the difficulty in the future or allow participation from afar.
