In the last few days, you had an increased chance to catch Water Pokémon such as Totodile, Squirtle, Magikarp, or other monsters of this type in Pokémon GO. Unfortunately, this event is also time-limited. The last hours of the Water Event have now begun, and you should make good use of them if you are still missing specific Water Pokémon in your collection.
Water Event 2017 End
This special event started on March 22 and ends today, March 29 at 9:00 PM German time. So there are only a few hours left to take advantage of this event. For example, you can choose a stylish accessory for free from the shop and put it on your character. The Magikarp Hat is a real eye-catcher in the world of Pokémon GO
During the event, Shiny Pokémon also appeared for the first time. Trainers found golden Magikarp shortly after the Water Festival started. This special color indicates that it is the Shiny variant of this species, which is considered particularly rare.
For trainers, the current event is a good opportunity to increase your stock of Magikarp candies. This has two advantages:
- A Magikarp requires 400 candies for its evolution, which you can farm more easily during the event.
- If you evolve a Shiny Magikarp, the evolved Gyarados will also be a Shiny Pokémon.

Easter Event Next in Pokémon GO?
Many trainers speculate on social media that the next event in Pokémon GO will be an Easter Event. However, there are currently no official statements from the developers, only speculations from trainers.
If there is an Easter Event in Pokémon GO, it is likely that the developers will change something about the eggs. For example, a Lucky Egg might last twice as long, or there could be enhanced rewards from eggs. As soon as there is official information from Niantic, we will, of course, inform you.
