Valentine’s Day in Pokémon GO is celebrated with special Pokémon. As an additional bonus, there is more Stardust.
For a long time, the trainers of Pokémon GO waited for a sign from the developers. They remained silent until shortly before the start of the event about whether Valentine’s Day 2018 would even be celebrated in Pokémon GO. Now, on the evening of February 13, they announced that the event is now active.
Valentines Event 2018
For the Valentine’s Day event 2018, it will be pink again in Pokémon GO. As the developers from Niantic explain, you will encounter special Pokémon gatherings during the event. You will also be well rewarded for catching these monsters.
Until February 15, you will find Luvdisc swarms in the game. You will receive triple Stardust for catching a Luvdisc or Chansey.
According to initial trainer reports, the update is already active and provides you with many of the pink Pokémon. What is particularly special about this is that through this event, the shiny variant of the small Luvdisc can now also be caught in the game. Trainer _Hybridz posted his shiny Luvdisc catch on Reddit:

Summary of the event news:
- More Chansey and Luvdisc spawns – Update: Chansey spawns are not as frequent as Luvdisc
- 3x Stardust for every catch of a Chansey or Luvdisc
- Event ends on February 16 around 10 PM German time (Event was extended by 24 hours)
With this Pokémon GO bug, players catch their monsters faster
