The new update 0.71.0 for Pokémon GO brings problems to the game. Trainers who have downloaded the update are complaining about performance issues.
A new update is on the way to Pokémon GO and aims to fix some bugs in the game. There has not yet been an official announcement from Niantic, but some changes have already been noticed through data mining.
Since yesterday, many trainers have already downloaded the APK of patch 0.71.0 before the official release and tried the update. It was noted that not everything improved.
Stutters and Lags in Pokémon GO
A new update in Pokémon GO is supposed to provide better gameplay and fewer bugs. Unfortunately, the new update 0.71.0 also brings new problems.
It is noticeable in arenas and raids. As trainers write on Reddit and Facebook, there are frequent stutters or lags in the latest Pokémon GO version during battles. While they are not strong enough to ruin entire battles, they still disrupt gameplay. Especially dodging is made more difficult.
User FuNKyShO made a video showing the performance issues in Pokémon GO:
On Reddit, trainer tobiw4n389 writes: “I had my first raid with the new update today. It was really bad. Dodging was almost impossible. It feels like 5 FPS or less. But this only happens in raids – catching Pokémon runs smoothly.”
These stutters are not entirely new. As trainer Westvargr writes, the problems on his phone are much worse. And they existed even before the latest update. He would be happy if the game only stuttered like in the shown video.
Trainer SavoTrnr agrees. He says: “The video looks smooth compared to my raid performance.”
