Niantic has released an update for Pokémon GO that brings several improvements. Update 0.49.1 for Android and 1.19.1 for iOS is currently rolling out and will be released gradually for various countries and regions. We may have to wait a bit longer here in Germany until the update appears in the different app stores. A specific release date is not known.
Patchnotes 0.49.1 Android / 1.19.1 iOS
The following changes to Pokémon GO are announced by the developers on the Pokémon blog:
- As a trainer, you can now send multiple Pokémon simultaneously to Professor Willow. You can use this feature by clicking on a Pokémon and then holding it down.
- On approach to the gym battle and the gym battle screen, there are now Pokémon type symbols, so you know which types you need to fight against.
Changes to Buddy Pokémon:
- On your Buddy Pokémon’s information screen, you will now see the total number of candies for that Pokémon.
- For all Buddy Pokémon, it will now also show how many kilometers you have already traveled with them by your side. This also counts for Pokémon that were your Buddy Pokémon in the past but have now been replaced.
No hints about the Starbucks leak
A possible leak from Starbucks employees suggests that the 2nd generation of Pokémon is set to be released in the game as soon as tomorrow, December 8. A majority of Starbucks locations in the USA will be turned into PokéStops. There will also be a special Pokémon Frappuccino.
All information about the Starbucks leak can be found here
These changes are not mentioned in the patch notes. The developers also do not provide any hints on Twitter that we can expect the new generation soon. Perhaps it is intended to be a big surprise without a major official announcement. We are curious about what awaits us tomorrow with Pokémon GO. As soon as there are updates, you will read about them here.
