Pokémon GO kicks off the new season “Abundance of Adventures.” We summarize what you can expect.
When does the season start? The new season titled “Abundance of Adventures” starts on September 1 at 10:00 AM local time. It will run for three months until December 1, 2023, also at 10:00 AM.
What is the highlight? The highlight is the new Pokémon from the Paldea region. Among other things, you can look forward to the starters from the Scarlet & Violet games.
Starting September 5, two hyper bonus events will bring a total of 21 Paldea Pokémon into the game. We have summarized the new Paldea creatures here.

What else does the season bring to Pokémon GO?
This new season includes some highlights. We list them here for you.
Crypto-Zapdos: After Crypto-Articuno dominated the Crypto Raids last weekend, it will now make room for its legendary trio colleague: Crypto-Zapdos can be challenged on weekends during the season.
The shiny variant will also be available with luck.
A second Master Ball: Did you use your Master Ball or do you not want to use yours because you only have one? Then you can be happy, as the new season gives you a second Master Ball.
You can complete the “Limited Research: Master Ball” by November 21, 2023. This is a “long-term challenge series” that can earn you the powerful ball. If you do not manage it in time, you should be able to purchase a corresponding special research in the shop – which you will likely have to pay for.
Events: Some events are already known. These include the Community Day Classic with Charmander on September 2, but also a new local event: the “City Safari.”
These are three live events on-site, in:
- Seoul, South Korea (October 7 and 8, 2023)
- Barcelona, Spain (October 13 and 14, 2023)
- Mexico City, Mexico (November 4 and 5, 2023)
If you want to participate, you will need a ticket and, of course, must travel to the respective city.
In addition, there will be further events spread over the months. Among other things, you can look forward to the return of Kartana and Kaguron, which will appear in raids and this time will alternate between both hemispheres.

Bonuses: As bonuses, you can expect:
- Open up to 40 gifts a day and store up to 40 gifts in your item bag
- Increased damage in raids with friends
- More XP when your friendship level increases
Note: Originally, it was stated regarding the bonuses that one could open and send 40 gifts per day. This was a mistake that Niantic has since corrected.
Which monsters will appear? Some spawns are now known that you can encounter in different habitats.
