It’s now known how to get tickets for the GO Fest in Dortmund in Pokémon GO: through the app itself. Niantic has published a guide on this.
When will tickets be available? There is not yet a specific date for this. Niantic states that the ticket purchase feature will only start when the lottery for the GO Fest in Chicago begins.
How do you get the tickets? The ticket purchase will take place in-game. Therefore, you will navigate through several pages in the app, and finally, it will be decided by lottery who gets the ticket.
This is how the ticket allocation works
You don’t need to be quick: So that every player has a chance at the tickets, the ticket distribution is not about speed. Once the feature is online, you can register there at your leisure. Here, it’s not about who is the fastest.
If you are registered, the lottery will decide your tickets. If you are drawn, you can purchase the ticket. If you are not drawn, you will not have a chance at tickets.
This is how you can register: The registration takes place in the app. You do not need to open a website. You need to follow these steps:
- Open the Pokémon GO app
- Click on the Pokéball symbol in the lower middle of the screen to open the menu
- Click on “Events” on the top right side. (next to “Settings” and “News”)
- All upcoming events will be displayed. The next event will be at the top
- Select your desired event. If ticket distribution is still active, it will say “Join the raffle”
- Now you just need to confirm your email. This does not have to be the same one you used to register with the app. If you are drawn for the tickets, you will receive a confirmation there. Otherwise, you will not receive anything from Niantic.
This is how you can purchase the tickets: If you receive an email confirming you as the winner of the raffle, you can purchase the tickets.
You should check your emails regularly because you must purchase the tickets within 48 hours.
- Reopen the app page with upcoming events where you have already registered
- For the event where you were drawn for the tickets, the field “Claim Ticket” will be displayed
- Click on this field and choose which day you want to attend and how many tickets you need
- You can then select tickets for friends
- Confirm the terms and conditions and order the tickets for a fee
- Finally, you will receive a confirmation email
Can I register my friends as well? It is worthwhile for you and your friends to register, as this increases your chances of getting tickets.
You can indeed bring multiple friends to the GO Fest. If you are drawn, you can include the usernames of your friends. However, you need to be at least Ultra Friends in the game with them.
All tickets you want to purchase must be directly assigned to a friend in the app. You cannot purchase tickets that are not assigned to any player.
