Potential Stardust and Candy Providers in Generation 3
In Pokémon GO, stardust and candies are an important resource to strengthen and evolve Pokémon. You acquire these primarily by catching Pokémon. To obtain the coveted resources, you often need to grind through a number of frequently appearing and easy-to-catch Pokémon. This is especially worthwhile when there are double XP events!
In Generation 1, these include Pokémon like Pidgey or in Generation 2 Murkrow. These are Pokémon that appear early and often in tall grass in the handheld editions. Consequently, we expect these Pokémon to serve as stardust and candy providers in Generation 3.
#276 Swablu
- Type: Normal/Flying
- Strong against types: Ghost, Grass, Bug, Ground
- Weak against types: Electric, Ice, Rock
- Description: Boldly, Swablu claims its territory against intruders, no matter how strong they may be. This fearless Pokémon remains aggressive despite a defeat but cries loudly when it is hungry.
#277 Altaria
- Type: Normal/Flying
- Strong against types: Ghost, Grass, Bug, Ground
- Weak against types: Electric, Ice, Rock
- Description: This Pokémon dives at a steep angle as soon as it detects prey. It grabs its prey with its claws and doesn’t let it escape.
#263 Zigzagoon
- Type: Normal
- Strong against types: Fighting
- Weak against types: Ghost
- Description: Zigzagoon is a restless wanderer. This Pokémon is very curious and inspects everything it randomly encounters.
#264 Linoone
- Type: Normal
- Strong against types: Fighting
- Weak against types: Ghost
- Description: Linoone always runs at full speed and never zigzags, but only goes straight. If it encounters an obstacle, it runs at a right angle past it. Slight curves pose a big challenge for this Pokémon.
For those who live near water, Wingull might become a good stardust catcher. The Water/Flying Pokémon appears almost everywhere near water in Ruby and Sapphire. The seagull evolves into Pelipper, a type of pelican.
Close to green spaces, the likelihood of frequently encountering the Bug-type Pokémon Wurmple is high. This Pokémon has two different evolutions that are determined by changes between day and night (in the handheld edition).
