There is a lot happening in Pokémon GO right now. Last night, on August 20 at 10:00 PM, the special research for Celebi started. At the same time, new shiny forms of three Pokémon were released. And there are also new research tasks for you.
In this overview, we will show you what to expect in Pokémon GO over the next few days.

New Field Quests in Pokémon GO
New research tasks will now be distributed at the gyms and PokéStops near you. These come with cool Pokémon encounters as rewards. There is even a chance for shinies.
The new tasks:
- Johto Festival: Catch 3 Sunkern
- Reward: Evolution items (Sun Stone, King’s Rock etc.)
- Johto Festival: Evolve 3 Sunkern or Natu
- Reward: Encounter with Pineco (can be shiny)
- Johto Festival: Throw three excellent throws
- Reward: Encounter with Onix or Scyther
- Johto Festival: Catch 5 Water Pokémon
- Reward: Encounter with Seaking or Quaputzi
- Johto Festival: Win a raid
- Reward: Encounter with Porygon
- Johto Festival: Throw 4 great curveball throws in a row
- Reward: Encounter with Miltank

Shiny Sunkern, Shiny Pineco, and Shiny Natu now in Pokémon GO
Shortly after the start of the Johto event, trainers reported new shiny sightings. So far, three new shinies have been confirmed that you can now catch in Pokémon GO.
These are Shiny Sunkern (confirmed by Reddit user jajica12), Shiny Pineco (confirmed by Reddit user Foxboro223), and Shiny Natu (confirmed by Reddit user Nico_SSC_96).
