In Pokémon GO, Team Rocket now has ten new Shadow Pokémon. This includes Larvitar. We will show you the new features and what this means for the Community Day in September 2019.
What’s new? The Pokémon GO team announced that Team Rocket can now access more examples of Shadow Pokémon. These are the Shadow Pokémon that you can purify after catching.
These 10 new examples are now included:
- Myrapla
- Duflor
- Bluzuk
- Omot
- Enton
- Fukano
- Abra
- Nockchan
- Larvitar
- Chelast
Since the start of the Team Rocket Invasions, the Shadow Pokémon have been steadily increased. This was probably not the last wave of new Shadows, and more examples should appear in the future.
Crypto Chelast on Community Day in September – What changes?
Professor Willow says: In the announcement of the new Pokémon, the well-known Professor Willow speaks to the trainers. He explains how these Pokémon behave on Community Days, which take place once a month.
“Through his research, the Professor has discovered that Shadow Pokémon cannot learn exclusive moves on Community Day. […]”
What does this mean for you? If you catch Crypto Chelast on the upcoming Community Day in September, you should purify it first before evolving it. Only then will it be able to learn the exclusive event move.
That Niantic specifically emphasizes the Community Days in the announcement could suggest that during these monthly events, Team Rocket invasions may increasingly reward Chelast.
What do the players say?
Fans are particularly excited about this Pokémon: The addition of Larvitar to the pool of Shadow Pokémon is well received by the community.
On Reddit , a player writes “Crypto Despotar will look so good”. Others are happy to have another source to obtain Larvitar in the game. Despotar is a popular, strong attacker in Pokémon GO.
