Who loves Pokémon GO might not want to miss it on their wedding day. That’s why there are now weddings in Japan that take place entirely in Pokémon style.
What kind of wedding is this? The Japanese company ESCRIT has teamed up with the Pokémon Company to hold real Pokémon weddings.
The ceremony is officially recognized and features numerous details from the Pokémon universe.

What does the wedding offer? Everything is oriented around things from Pokémon. Some details include:
- Two giant Pikachu dressed as the bride and groom stand close to the couple throughout the wedding
- There are table decorations and small cardboard cutouts of Pikachu and others everywhere.
- The food is themed around Pokémon. For example, there are several foods shaped like Pikachu’s tail
- A wedding cake with Pokéballs and various Pikachu
- Various Pokémon gifts that guests can take home
This is the highlight: Not only are all the details in the decoration worth mentioning. The highlight is likely the marriage certificate, as it is written on colorful paper with two small Pikachu.
On this, the couple can officially sign their vows.
What gifts are there? As a memento of the wedding, there are various small gifts that guests can keep. For example, there is tea in a small tin and a Baumkuchen with writing – of course, everything in Pokémon design.
