What kind of statistics are these? Recently, the Pokémon World Championships 2024 took place in Honolulu, Hawaii. Pokémon GO was also represented. Over three days, the best of the best competed for the title. There were also prizes of up to $5,000 to be won.

Many of the Pokémon were similarly popular on both days. Pokémon that only appear in the statistics on one day are highlighted in bold above.
The Winning Team
But is it really effective to use frequently used Pokémon in PVP? Apparently yes. This is shown to us by this year’s winner Yip Kai Cheng, aka “Yekai0904”, from Hong Kong. His entire team consisted of popular Pokémon that also appear in the statistics above.

Conclusion? Especially Accum, Epitaff, and Slurp were particularly popular at this year’s Pokémon World Championships. They made it to the top 3 of the most commonly used Pokémon on both days.
In general, it is quite sensible to use Pokémon from the current meta if you want to be successful in PVP.
