Pokémon GO introduces a new Pokémon to the game. During the event “Sunny Beaches”, you can encounter the large catfish Pokémon “Heerashai” for the very first time.
What kind of Pokémon is this? Heerashai, the “Large Catfish” Pokémon, is a Water-type monster from the games Scarlet and Violet.
This fish, measuring just over 12 meters, is quite large, but essentially poses no threat. Because, if you look at the Pokédex, it turns out to be rather dim-witted.
“This Pokémon is very strong but seems to be not particularly smart. It is devoted to Nigiragi as if it were its leader,” states the Pokédex in Pokémon Violet according to PokéWiki. “While it is a glutton, hunting is not its forte. Therefore, it teams up with Nigiragi to catch prey,” the Pokédex agrees in Pokémon Scarlet.
In short: Be nice to this fish and maybe feed it a berry when you catch it. By the way, Nigiragi recently also made its first appearance in the game.

When and how do I catch Heerashai? Heerashai appears in the event “Sunny Beaches”, which begins on Monday, August 25. It ends on Sunday, August 31. Important: As it currently stands, Heerashai can only be caught in level 3 raids. So you’ll have to battle it before you can catch it.
Can Heerashai be shiny? Indeed! The Pokémon comes directly with its shiny form in the game. This version is markedly different from the normal Heerashai and is likely an exciting target for many shiny hunters, as a post in the subreddit “TheSilphRoad” about Pokémon GO shows.
In addition, there are more contents that the new event brings.
