Good news for shiny hunters! You can now find Shiny Skorgla more often in Pokémon GO.
This is Shiny Skorgla: Skorgla is a Ground and Flying-type Pokémon that resembles a bat. With 100 candies and a Sinnoh Stone, you can evolve it into Skorgro.
Since the beginning of the “Johto Journey“, you can encounter and catch Skorgla in its shiny form. Shinies have a different color than the normal version of the Pokémon and are very rare. You can also encounter Shiny Wiesor since early September – currently also in raids, just like Skorgla.
Other raid bosses include Raikou, Entei, and Suicune – hopefully also as shiny!
Shiny Skorgla appears more frequently
You will encounter Skorgla more often now: According to data from experts at “TheSilphRoad“, the shiny rate for Skorgla in Pokémon GO has changed. At the beginning of the event, the chance for a shiny was also the standard rate of 1 in 450 for Skorgla.
However, after about 24 hours, the rate was improved: Currently, you have about a 1 in 150 chance of encountering a shiny Skorgla and catching it for your collection. How long this rate will last is currently uncertain.
For Wiesor, the shiny rate also seems to differ slightly from the standard values, according to “TheSilphRoad”, but not as clearly as with Skorgla. TheSilphRoad found 45 shinies among 13,857 encounters with Wiesor.
This is how trainers are reacting: In the Pokémon subreddit, trainers hope to have more luck in their shiny hunt now. “Skorgla is the shiny I want more than any other. Hopefully, I can get one,” writes a user.
Some trainers have already successfully obtained Shiny Skorgla, while others had more luck with Wiesor. Many are still waiting to encounter the shiny version: “I still have a big fat nothing,” writes for example “Sputnikboy.”
Partially, trainers had trouble finding either Wiesor or Skorgla at all. Some trainers report not observing any spawns of the two Pokémon for a time.
Have you been lucky with the shinies yet? Or are you more interested in other bonuses from the Johto Journey – like an Icognito for example?
