In Pokémon GO there are suddenly new Pokémon – ones that are usually not found.
What is happening in Pokémon GO? In Pokémon GO, the Water Festival 2025 has just started, but that seems not to be everything: As several Trainers report in the subreddit “TheSilphRoad” about Pokémon GO, they are currently finding some exciting Pokémon in the wild.
Some Trainers report wild Forgita (on Reddit). This is a popular Steel/Fairy Pokémon and was previously only found in eggs. It seems to be roaming in the wild now. It evolves into Granforgita, one of the best Pokémon in the PvP League.
Other Trainers caught Mähikel and also reported on Reddit: The Goat Pokémon was long only catchable at certain local events, but it recently appeared stronger at this year’s GO Fest. Now it seems to have finally been released into the wild. In the comments, someone even shows that Mähikel’s evolution Chevrumm is also out and about.
And yet others report that they have sighted and caught the Fire Worm Thermopod.
Moreover, further players explain that even more exciting wild Pokémon, including higher-stage evolutions, can be found. This includes, for example, Granforgita, Maxax, Phandra, Krarmor, and other interesting Pokémon (via Reddit).
Trainers are excited about new spawns – but will they last?
This is how the community reacts: The new spawns are received with quite a bit of enthusiasm. Players are excited to catch exciting Pokémon in the wild that they might not have yet. A few voices:
- “I just caught a wild Granforgita and thought I was being tricked by Zorua again,” says user krispyboyz on Reddit. Zorua disguises itself in the wild as your buddy Pokémon. This was apparently not the case here!
- “Looks like they opened the floodgates when it comes to wild spawns. It was about time,” says another user on Reddit.
- “Time to play this event, even if it rains,” says a user on Reddit.
Why are they suddenly out and about? This is currently unclear. A corresponding event was actually not announced. And this point is currently causing some concern among players. They are wondering whether this release was actually planned and if the spawns will really stay.
The answer is likely to show in the coming days, as we will see whether the Pokémon can still be found or if they disappear as suddenly as they appeared. We’ll keep an eye on it! Let us know in the comments what Pokémon you find in the wild.
What’s next in Pokémon GO? The mentioned Water Festival will continue for a few more days, with the Gigantamax Day featuring Lapras and the start of the “Summer Concert” event this weekend. After that, more events will come where you can catch exciting Pokémon. We show you the overview here: All Pokémon GO events in July 2025.
