What kind of event is this? Every Tuesday evening, Pokémon GO hosts a Spotlight Hour for you. For the duration of 60 minutes, a Pokémon is in focus along with a bonus. Niantic determines the combination of Pokémon and bonus at the beginning of each month.
Today, you will encounter the Pokémon Dratini from the first generation. It belongs to the Dragon type and can evolve into Dragonair and Dragonite.
Spotlight Hour on February 6 – Start, Shiny, and Bonuses
When does it start? As you know from previous Spotlight Hours, the event also starts today at 6:00 PM local time. The content will be active for you for one hour. The event ends again at 7:00 PM.
What bonuses are active? During the event, you will see wild Dratini almost everywhere in Pokémon GO. If you want to attract even more of these Pokémon, you can light incense.
Additionally, you will receive double the amount of experience points for catching Pokémon.

Can you catch Shiny Dratini? Yes, the shiny form of Dratini has been in Pokémon GO for quite some time. With some luck, you might catch one during the event today. However, keep in mind that the chances of shinies are not increased during Spotlight Hours.
