A new Spotlight Hour is approaching in Pokémon GO. In addition to Galar Slowpoke, you can also look forward to an experience points bonus.
What kind of event is this? Spotlight Hours are events that take place every Tuesday. During these events, there is at least one Pokémon that is the focus of the event and appears in large numbers.
Additionally, there is always a bonus that is active during the event.
In the next Spotlight Hour, taking place on October 8, 2024, you will encounter Galar Slowpoke. While the normal version of Slowpoke has been available since Generation 1, the Galar variant was introduced in Generation 8.
The Galar version of Slowpoke has the Psychic type and can evolve into Galar Galarian Lilligant and Galarian Lickilicky.
Spotlight Hour on October 8 – Start and Bonuses
When does the Spotlight Hour start? As usual, the Spotlight Hour begins at 6:00 PM. It will end again 60 minutes later, at 7:00 PM.
What bonuses are active? If you evolve Pokémon during the event, you will receive double the amount of experience points. If you use a Lucky Egg, you can further increase the amount received.
The bonus applies to all Pokémon that you evolve.
Can you catch Shiny Galar Slowpoke? Yes, if you’re lucky, you might also encounter the Shiny variant of Galar Slowpoke.
Is the Spotlight Hour worth it? If you’re looking for strong attackers, you won’t find any in this event. Neither Galar Slowpoke nor its evolutions are among the strongest attackers in Pokémon GO.
In the battle leagues, the Pokémon do not perform particularly well and should generally not be used.
If you have many Pokémon accumulated that you want to evolve, you can make good use of the event to collect additional experience points.
