Once again, a Spotlight Hour awaits you in Pokémon GO. Here you can look forward to catching Voltorb in two forms.
What kind of event is this? The Spotlight Hour is a weekly event that takes place every Tuesday. You can expect at least one Pokémon to appear in very high numbers.
Additionally, the Spotlight Hour always brings you a bonus that is active during the 60-minute event.
In the next Spotlight Hour, Voltorb will be waiting for you. You can catch this Pokémon in both its regular form and its Hisui form. While both Pokémon are Electric type, the Hisui form also has the Grass type. Both monsters can evolve into Electrode or Hisuian Electrode respectively.
Spotlight Hour on July 8 – Start and Bonuses
When does the Spotlight Hour start? As usual, the Spotlight Hour starts at 6:00 PM. After 60 minutes, at 7:00 PM, the event ends.
What bonuses are active? If you catch Pokémon during the event, you will receive double the amount of experience points. However, since the Hisui Celebration Hyper Bonus is also active during the Spotlight Hour, you will actually receive four times the amount of experience points instead of double.
If you also use a Lucky Egg, you can even earn eight times the amount of experience points when catching Pokémon for the duration of the item’s effect.
Can you catch Shiny Voltorb? Yes. With a bit of luck, you can also encounter both monsters in their Shiny variants. However, the chance is not increased.
Is the Spotlight Hour worth it? If you’re hoping to get strong attackers from the event, you’ll unfortunately be disappointed. Both Pokémon and their evolutions are not among the best attackers in Pokémon GO.
Both monsters are not particularly well suited for the Battle League either. Hisuian Electrode can at least perform well in a few special cups.
The experience point bonus combined with the high spawn rates can ensure that you can collect some additional experience points.
