The next Spotlight Hour is coming up in Pokémon GO. This time with Plusle, Minun, and an XP bonus.
What is a Spotlight Hour? The Spotlight Hour is a short, 60-minute event that takes place every week on Tuesday. There is at least one Pokémon that is the focus, along with a bonus.
The next Spotlight Hour will take place on August 12, 2025. The two Electric-type Pokémon Plusle and Minun will be featured. Both are from Generation 3 and do not have evolutions.
Spotlight Hour on August 12, 2025 – Start and Bonuses
When does the Spotlight Hour start? Like every week, the Spotlight Hour starts at 6:00 PM. After an hour, at 7:00 PM, it will end.
What bonus is active? If you catch Pokémon during the event, you will receive double the amount of experience points. The bonus applies not only to Plusle and Minun but to all Pokémon you catch during the 60 minutes.
If you use Lucky Eggs during this time, you will even receive four times the amount of experience points for each catch.
Can you catch Shiny Plusle and Minun? Yes. If you are lucky, you can obtain both Pokémon in their Shiny variants. However, the chance of this happening is not increased during the Spotlight Hour.
Is the Spotlight Hour worth it? If you are looking for strong Pokémon, you may be disappointed with this Spotlight Hour. Neither Plusle nor its counterpart Minun are among the best attackers in Pokémon GO.
Both Pokémon also do not play a significant role in the Battle Leagues and should not be used there.
If you want to grab a few extra experience points, you can take advantage of the event. The event bonus combined with Lucky Eggs can earn you some experience points.
