What kind of special research is this? This quest line is part of the large live event “A Colossal Discovery”. There you will receive not only the special research but also raid passes and other items, such as the Einall Stone.
The special research is the centerpiece and will ultimately bring you the legendary Pokémon Regigigas.
This is how you complete the special research “A Colossal Discovery”
There are a total of 4 stages in this special research. You need to complete 3 raids and evolve several Pokémon. In the end, Regigigas awaits you.
Stage 1
- Catch 1 Regirock, Regice or Registeel
- Reward: 3000 XP
- Catch 7 Rock-type Pokémon
- Reward: Encounter with a Koknodon
- Evolve 7 Rock-type Pokémon
- Reward: Encounter with a Despotar
Reward for completing the stage: 3x golden raspberry, 3000 stardust, 10x great ball
Keep an eye out for these Pokémon: In the current event, monsters like Kleinstein or Stollunior are more frequently found. They are Rock-types, so the search shouldn’t be difficult.
Stage 2
- Catch 1 Regirock, Regice or Registeel
- Reward: 3000 XP
- Catch 7 Ice-type Pokémon
- Reward: Encounter with a Lapras
- Evolve 7 Ice-type Pokémon
- Reward: Encounter with a Rexblisar
Reward for completing the stage: 1x Sinnoh Stone, 3000 stardust, 10x ultra ball
Keep an eye out for these Pokémon: Especially Quiekel should help you out here with the quest. Catch 7 of them and evolve them right away.
Stage 3
- Catch 1 Regirock, Regice or Registeel
- Reward: 3000 XP
- Catch 7 Steel-type Pokémon
- Reward: Encounter with a Schilterus
- Evolve 7 Steel-type Pokémon
- Reward: Encounter with a Stahlos
Reward for completing the stage: 1x Einall Stone, 3000 stardust, 1x star piece
Keep an eye out for these Pokémon: Steel Pokémon, especially Stollunior and Magnetilo, are currently in circulation. Here you can easily complete the quest.
Stage 4
- Take a snapshot of Registeel
- Reward: 3000 XP
- Take a snapshot of Regice
- Reward: 3000 XP
- Take a snapshot of Regirock
- Reward: 3000 XP
Reward for completing the stage: Encounter with a Regigigas, 10x Regigigas candy, exclusive avatar pose
This is important when solving: The 3 Regis can only be found in raids until Monday evening. So you shouldn’t wait long to complete the quest line.
