How do the Safari Zones in Pokémon GO work? New information confirms that admission is free. Additionally, there are special raids!
In the coming weeks and months, Safari Zone events will take place in Europe, where there are many rewards for Pokémon GO trainers to find. A wide variety of Pokémon – including regional Pokémon – await you in the Safari Zones.
It has now been announced that there is no admission fee for the events. However, if you want to participate and, for example, travel to Oberhausen, you must register for it.
Update 28.07.: There is only a limited number of tickets in Oberhausen
Safari Events Price, Register
Good news for trainers who want to participate in the Safari events in Europe in the coming weeks. As reported by PokémonGOHub, there is now clarification regarding the misleading information that circulated about these events in recent days. Initially, it was unclear whether there were admission fees for the events or not.
The following details have now been confirmed for the Safari Zones in Pokémon GO:
- All European Safari Zone events are free. However, registration for the respective event is required.
- There will be special team areas for Team Red, Yellow, and Blue on-site.
- Registration should then be available at the event locations – whether there will be large pre-registrations is still unclear. As soon as we know more details, we will inform you here on Mein-MMO.de.
- Niantic needs the registration for two reasons:
- To reduce the number of spoofers on-site
- Event statistics and for further communication with participants in the future.
Because apparently not all shopping centers were informed of these details at the same time, there was previously misleading information on social networks. There is such a Safari event in Oberhausen, Germany.
On the Facebook page of Stadshart Amstelveen (the Safari Zone in the Netherlands), the following information is now available:
- Stadshart Amstelveen will be one of the destinations of the Pokémon GO Safari Zone in Europe. Mark August 12 on your calendar! We will report on the news regarding the event.
The event is free, and you do not need to buy tickets. Registrations will be available on-site.

Special Raids
The responsible team of the Unibail-Rodamco centers stated that “special raids” are planned. Whether these will involve “new raid bosses” or “regular raids” has not been answered.
So we have to wait and see what these special raids are all about.
