Event Summer 2018: Pokémon GO brings three major events this summer. The Safari Zone in Dortmund, the GO Fest in Chicago, and the Safari Zone in Yokosuka, Japan. The event in Dortmund has already concluded, and now there is news about the Safari in Japan. New Shinies await you.
Trainers need tickets for the Safari Zone
When does the Safari in Japan start? The Safari Zone in Yokosuka starts on Wednesday, August 29, and ends on September 2 according to Japanese time.
How does the Safari work? Three parks will participate in the event. Special Pokémon such as Tropius, Unown, and others will appear. Presumably the ones visible in the announcement image. So, Torchic, Treecko, Mudkip, Barboach, Pikachu, and Wingull.
The event is free, but trainers need tickets: To participate in the event in Japan, trainers must secure tickets. They are free and can be requested from the Yokosuka Safari website. The tickets are available online from July 6 to July 20. If more tickets are requested than available, a lottery will decide.
One ticket = 1 day: With one ticket, you secure participation for only one day of the event. This is to ensure that as many trainers as possible have access to the Safari Zone in Yokosuka. If a trainer manages to secure multiple tickets, only the earliest day counts. All others are void for that trainer.
Worldwide rewards – Stardust and Shiny Wingull
Stardust worldwide: If the goals of the Safari Zone are met, there will be a Stardust event afterward. Possible bonuses include:
- More Stardust for catches
- Stardust lasts for one hour
- More Stardust for hatching eggs
- More Stardust for raids
There is also a special bonus waiting for you here that has not yet been announced. Since the bonus for the Safari Zone Dortmund was an Articuno day, we assume that the GO Fest and the Safari Zone in Yokosuka will unlock a Zapdos and a Moltres day. The global challenge runs on September 1 and 2.
Shiny Wingull will be available worldwide
During the Safari Zone in Yokosuka, more Wingull will appear worldwide. If you are lucky, you might find them in their Shiny form as well. You can see what that looks like in the image above. The evolution Pelipper will also have the changes between blue and green.
