Today, a Safari Zone event from Pokémon GO is taking place in Dortmund’s Westfalenpark. You can find the most important information about it here.
The city of Dortmund, in cooperation with Pokémon GO developer Niantic, is hosting a huge Safari Zone for you this summer. This means you can find Pokémon in Dortmund that are otherwise rare in Europe. There will also be an event in the large Westfalenpark.
Safari Zone 2018 in Dortmund – What is it about?
When? Niantic is hosting a Safari event in Dortmund on the weekend of Saturday, June 30 to Sunday, July 1.
- Saturday, June 30, 2018; 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM
- Sunday, July 1, 2018; 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Where? The event takes place in Westfalenpark in Dortmund (in North Rhine-Westphalia). This is in the west of Germany. On the official website of Westfalenpark, there is a travel description for you – or directly via Google Maps. The park is located near the city center, the Westfalenhallen, and the Signal Iduna Park. The park is easily accessible on foot from the main train station – it would take about half an hour. PokéStops with the “Pokémon GO Safari Zone” logo will show you the way to the park.
Corasonn and Icognito on site – Safari event
What will happen? The Safari Zone in Westfalenpark offers trainers the opportunity to catch many Pokémon that have been “rarely sighted in Europe before.”
Regional Pokémon 2018: Niantic confirmed that you can catch Corasonn in Germany during the event. In addition, Icognito will appear in the forms D-O-R-T-M-U-N.
Special 2KM Eggs: Special 2 Kilometer eggs will be distributed at PokéStops. At past events, they contained rare Pokémon that usually hatch from 10 KM eggs.
Additionally, in-game activities with special Pokémon will take place throughout the entire Dortmund area. This is meant to give trainers the opportunity to explore the cultural history of the city.
