What is being celebrated?
Pokémon GO is celebrating its first birthday and is planning events all around the world. Therefore, in August and September, many Unibail-Rodamco shopping centers will start Safari Zone events.
At these events, you will have the opportunity to catch Pokémon that were first discovered in the Kanto and Johto regions. This also includes Pokémon that “have never been seen in Europe before.” These Pokémon are currently not available in Europe.
Furthermore, at these events, you will unite your forces to defeat unique and particularly strong raid bosses.
Safari Zone in Germany, Oberhausen
On September 16, 2017, such a Safari Zone event will take place in Germany. The spectacle is to be activated that day at the shopping and leisure center “CentrO Oberhausen.” Oberhausen is located in western Germany, near Düsseldorf.

Limited Tickets for Safari at CentrO
On the Facebook page of the shopping center, CentrO explained that there are 4000 free tickets available for September 16. To participate in the event, you must secure one of these 4000 tickets. You must register in advance to participate in the Safari Zone event. There will be a special registration platform for this.
Safari Registration on the CentrO Facebook Page
A registration platform will be available “soon.” There you will have the opportunity to sign up and get your free ticket. After the 4000 tickets have been distributed, there is no way to acquire additional tickets through payment.
Only one ticket is allocated per person.
The registration platform is supposed to go live tonight according to CentrO, allowing many players time to register. It is best to follow the Facebook page of CentrO Oberhausen to be informed as soon as possible. Here is the CentrO Oberhausen Facebook page
Connection is supposed to remain stable
On Facebook, many trainers expressed concerns about the Wi-Fi and internet connection during the event on September 16. The center states that they will prepare and improve the appropriate technology before the event.
Niantic has already learned from the Chicago event and is well prepared for the event in Japan. The Pikachu outbreak managed 2 million players.
We hope that the connection will remain stable in the shopping center as well.
Pokéwalk through CentrO
As PCGames reports, there will also be Pokémon walking tours through CentrO Oberhausen. The Pokéwalk is a guided tour through the shopping center. Players can catch Pokémon and discover gyms and PokéStops.
More Pokémon GO Safari events are still happening in these cities
