In Pokémon GO the Rivals Week has been announced. The event will bring you some Pokémon that you normally can’t obtain, along with a suitable bonus.
What kind of event is this? The Rivals Week is an event that will start on May 4, 2024, at 10:00 AM and will last until May 9, 2024, at 8:00 PM. During the Rivals Week, the GO Battle Weekend will also take place.
During the Rivals Week, you will encounter some regional Pokémon that you normally can’t catch in our latitudes. Additionally, the shiny chance for these Pokémon is also increased.

The perfect opportunity to catch regional shiny Pokémon
What kind of Pokémon are available in the event in the wild? Besides a variety of fixed wild Pokémon that you can catch throughout the whole event, there are also two Pokémon that you can catch during a certain period.
Particularly interesting for many trainers here are the regional Pokémon Fermicula, Vipitis, and Jiutesto, which are otherwise only available in other parts of the world.

What bonuses are available during the event? During the event, there will be three bonuses that are activated. These are:
- 10x experience points for spinning gym photo discs
- Double catch candies
- Increased shiny chance for Sengo, Vipitis, Jiutesto, Karadonis, Furnifraß, and Fermicula
What Pokémon are available in field research? There will also be field research during the event, where you can encounter Pokémon as rewards. These are:

The Pokémon marked with a * can also be caught as shiny with some luck.
Timed Research: There will also be timed research as part of the event. By completing the tasks, you can look forward to experience points, special candies, fast TMs, and encounters with the Pokémon from the event.
GO Battle Weekend
What kind of event is this? The GO Battle Weekend is essentially an event within an event. It will take place from May 4, 2024, at 12:00 AM to May 5, 2024, at 11:59 PM. During the event, you can look forward to the following bonuses:
- 4x Stardust as a reward for wins in the battle league (except at the end of a battle set)
- You can complete 20 battle sets (instead of 5) per day during the event
- A free timed research focused on battling that will reward you with sandals styled like Hala
In addition, there will be a paid timed research for $1 (approximately €1) where you can receive Stardust, a Star Piece, three special candies, and three XL special candies.
There will also be PokéStop showcases featuring event Pokémon.
