Pokémon GO has introduced the first content for the Halloween event 2023. This comes in two parts – and the first part is now known.
When does the Halloween event start? The Halloween adventure 2023 starts on Thursday, October 19, 2023, at 10:00 AM local time. The first part of the event will run until October 26 at 10:00 AM.
What happens during the Halloween event? You can expect spooky content as always, with many ghost Pokémon and Halloween-themed atmosphere.
- Among other things, the Halloween decor of the map will be reactivated
- Additionally, a remix of the classic Lavender Town music will play at night
Moreover, bonuses will be active.
- Additional candy for nice, great, and excellent throws
- Additional XL candies when catching with nice, great, and excellent throws
- One additional XL candy when hatching eggs, from level 31
- Double candy for hatching
Also, some exciting Pokémon will be around during the event.
Ghost dog Gruff debuts, brings even more ghost Pokémon with him
This is Gruff: Gruff is a relatively new Pokémon, originating from the games Scarlet and Violet. The ghost Pokémon was introduced in 2022 in a small trailer, which we are embedding here again.

It can evolve into the Pokémon Friedwuff. In Pokémon GO, you will need 50 candies for that.

In addition, more Pokémon will be around that fit Halloween. This includes Paragoni, which will be available shiny for the first time. The event spawns are:
- Rettan*
- Zubat*
- Alolan Meowth*
- Nebulak*
- Alpollo
- Webarak*
- Traunfugil*
- Fiffyen*
- Shuppet*
- Driftlon*
- Lichtel*
- Paragoni*
- Sankabuh (but rarer)

Traunfugil and Paragoni will also be featured in field research. In the showcases, Shuppet, Banette, or Gruff can participate.
What do the research tasks bring? The event will bring several tasks.
- A limited-time research from October 19 to October 31, which will provide encounters with Gruff and other rewards.
- Another limited-time research focusing on Kryppuk. It will also run from October 19 to October 31.
- And an additional paid research that is expected to cost about 5 US dollars (approximately 5 euros). There will also be Pokémon encounters and a Halloween avatar pose to collect.

Additionally, there will be offers in the shop and research with Prime Gaming, which includes a Gruff wig for the avatar.
