The long-awaited return of Rayquaza in Pokémon GO is approaching. However, some players are concerned about two things, which has dampened the mood in the community slightly.
Here is the good news: For months, we have been waiting for the return of Rayquaza. But now Niantic has announced that the legendary Pokémon will return for a raid weekend.
Here lies the problem: Despite this good news, the event is not well-received everywhere. In particular, two issues are seen as problematic: the short event duration and the absence of Shiny.
We delve into the players’ concerns and explain what the issue is for some players.
Reason 1: There is no Shiny Rayquaza
This is what Niantic says about it: Regarding the Shiny topic, the Japanese Twitter account of Pokémon GO made a statement. They explained that there will be no shiny Rayquaza at the event.
This is why it is a problem: Niantic has hosted such raid weekends several times. There, players were able to catch the shiny version of the Pokémon. This was also the case most recently with Latias.
Moreover, the raid days of the legendary birds or Gengar also gave players the opportunity to catch their shiny forms for the first time.
It is all the more surprising that there will be no Shiny Rayquaza. Many players were hoping for such a weekend with the shiny form of the legendary Pokémon and are now disappointed.
This is what players think about it: On Reddit, there is a lot of discussion, and players’ opinions are mostly negative. A user named sts_ssp writes on Reddit: “I would have invested numerous raid passes for Shiny Rayquaza, but since there is no Shiny, I will wait until next time.”
“I won’t spend my premium passes if it’s not shiny. This is so disappointing,” writes another Reddit user.
But there is also hope: Other players see something positive in all of this. They assume that Rayquaza will definitely come back again. Niantic should hopefully bring the legendary Pokémon in its shiny form then. Players also hope that this event will last longer than just a weekend.
Reason 2: Rayquaza is only available for one weekend
These are the event times: Rayquaza will return for a short time. You will only have the opportunity to encounter Rayquaza in raids from Saturday, March 16, to Monday, March 18.
This is why it is a problem: For many players, this time frame is simply too short. If one is unavailable that weekend, then there is almost no chance to catch Rayquaza.
Rayquaza is one of the best Pokémon in the game, which makes it all the more frustrating that it is only available for a short time.
This is the positive aspect: Since the event time is so short and there is no shiny, there will surely be another event surrounding Rayquaza. Therefore, players will have two chances to catch the legendary Pokémon.
What do you think about the event? Are you excited for Rayquaza or is it too short available for you?
Do you have all the gyms in your city at gold level? If not, now is the best time:
