In Pokémon GO, the raid hour with Mewtwo has surprisingly been canceled for today. It was supposed to take place this evening, on September 18.
What is the raid hour? This event regularly takes place in Pokémon GO. For one hour, a legendary raid appears at almost every gym, and you can battle it for an hour.
In fact, such an event was already announced for today, but Niantic has now canceled the raid hour with Mewtwo.
Update from September 20: The new date for the legendary raid hour is set. It will be in October.
Raid hour on September 18 canceled – Why?
Why is there no event? The developers justified their decision with technical problems. They announced this via Twitter.
Players from New Zealand reported this morning that no legendary raids appeared during their raid hour with Mewtwo. After the raids finally arrived with over an hour delay, many trainers had already gone home.
First trainers from Australia, where the raid hour starts after New Zealand, reported early Mewtwo raids. The raids appeared without an egg beforehand.
Now it seems Niantic has pulled the emergency brake and postponed the raid hour.
When will the event be repeated? So far, nothing is known about this. It is only said that the raid hour should be made up for at a later date.
This could cause difficulties: Mewtwo is only available in raids until next Monday, September 23. If Niantic wants a repeat during this period, they need to hurry.
Can you still battle Mewtwo? Even though there were difficulties during the raid hour, Mewtwo remains in the legendary raids.
So anyone who wants to raid actively can continue to battle Mewtwo. Only the raid hour has been postponed.
What are the chances of a Shiny? According to initial findings, the Shiny rate is again expected to be 1 in 19. This is the case for every legendary Pokémon.
