The Raid Hour starts at this time: As usual, the Raid Hour starts at 6 PM local time. It runs until exactly 7 PM. At every gym where no other raid is currently taking place, you can challenge and catch Giratina.
Shiny Giratina is catchable: Even Giratina with an alternative coloration is available. The chances for a Shiny are, as is common with legendary Shinys, about 1 in 19.
This is how strong Giratina is: Giratina in its Altered Form is not exactly an overwhelmingly strong Pokémon. Compared to Giratina’s Origin Form, it looks weak. However, during the Raid Hour, you can also collect Giratina Candy to power up the Origin Form if you already have it in your possession.
These are the best counters against Giratina: If you use the right Pokémon, you can defeat Giratina with just three players. You only need to reach level 25 if you have a high friendship level or the right weather conditions to assist you.
Giratina is a Ghost and Dragon-type Pokémon, making it particularly vulnerable to Ice, Dragon, Fairy, Dark, and Ghost types. Accordingly, the following counters are recommended:
- Rayquaza with Dragon Tail and Outrage
- Palkia with Dragon Tail and Draco Meteor
- Brutalanda with Dragon Tail and Outrage
- Dragonite with Dragon Tail and Outrage
- Gengar with Shadow Claw and Shadow Ball
