Shinies are a rare find in Pokémon GO, which players want to catch directly and perhaps capture with a screenshot as well. This was the case for a player on Reddit, but later he noticed that his Pokéball looked different than usual.
What happened? In the subreddit for Pokémon GO, user kieranob shares his recent shiny catch. He describes how he found a Houndoom as shiny, right next to a gold berry and an Ultra Ball. He caught the Houndoom and looked at the screenshot again. You can see the post here:
In the screenshot, the user notices that his Pokéball looks quite strange. It sparkles and glows like a bowling ball. The bug is quite amusing to the community, and for some, it’s not the first time.

How does the community react to the glitch? A user shares their own picture of the graphic error. User Luhha shows a screenshot with a sparkling Ultra Ball. In the background is a shiny Gyarados, which also glows to match the sparkling effect. He simply says: This has been happening for ages.

Strange. Looks like a glitch, but it resembles a Terastal Pokéball. I’m not a fan of Terastal though.
It is unknown whether this can only happen with shinies or also with normal Pokémon; the two screenshots from the Reddit thread show shiny Pokémon, however.
