The GO Fest in Pokémon GO is currently in full swing. However, the global event has faced technical issues at times. A replacement is now planned in Australia.
What happened in Australia: In Australia and New Zealand, players have already experienced large parts of the event due to the shifted time zones. For this reason, there is already an overview of the Pokémon appearing on the first day of GO Fest.
However, the event was not running smoothly throughout. Players reported on reddit that they could no longer click on Pokémon. Additionally, spawns were missing, the player avatar disappeared, and some players could not enter the game.
In short: For a while, the event, for which players had purchased a ticket, was not really playable.
Pokémon GO announces replacement
This is how Niantic responds: Through the Pokémon GO account, the developers announced via Twitter that there would be a replacement event at a later time. After all, some habitats were not playable.
The announcement briefly caused concern, as some players thought that GO Fest would now be completely canceled and postponed. However, this is not the case. The Niantic support account reassured shortly after that GO Fest would continue as planned, with the replacement event just being an addition.
